The most common question I get asked as an athlete is "how do you continue to stay so motivated?"
The answer is simple. I don't.
I stay determined, I stay disciplined and I stay focused. That's it.
My passion for hard work is clear and I know it probably seems like I wake up ready to dominate every day that comes my way. I don't.
Quite often I wake up and sit on my phone for an hour before I go do my cardio. Sometimes I sit doing nothing for longer than I should. More often than not I left varsity work till the week if not the day before submission dates. I fuck up, I don't always enjoy training, I don't always enjoy dieting, I don't always enjoy bodybuilding or coaching. And that is normal.
What makes sure I don't fall of the rails every time I feel shit and don't make posts every month saying "I'm back!", is my discipline and consistencey. No matter how far I stray, there is always a rope attached to my goals pulling me back on track because of the habits I have set every day.
I've made it a habit to move, to eat at certain times, to train at the same time, to sleep consistently, to just be introspective and aware of how my current actions are affecting my goals.
These habits inspire motivation on a daily basis. They ensure that even if I don't feel like doing anything, it happens automatically. If I "feel" like doing something I shouldn't, I get so physically uncomfortable because it's a novel experience and my body doesn't stray.
My mind is set on my goals. It's time for you to decide whether you're as serious about your own personal goals as you preach to your followers, it's time to FIND YOUR GRIND.
