Insulin

Insulin is not a storage hormone. It is a regulatory hormone.

It regulates blood sugar as its primary function

Blood sugar high = more insulin release

Higher blood sugar levels from higher carb intake = more insulin needed for you to "use" these carbs

Lower blood sugar levels = less insulin release

You don't eat according to your insulin protocol - you take insulin based on your carb intake and needs as a result.
