This is the mantra I live by and the words I spoke to Lwandi when he and I started working together 3 and a half years ago. All I asked of him was that he trusts me and gives his best effort to everything I program. He hasn't fallen short once. This man has relentlessly chased his goals since day 1.
I remember seeing him as a kid back in 2016 when I worked at Chrome Supplements next to Planet Fitness and he would come in asking every single question he could. I always gave him the time of day because I could see the passion he had for this game. It was the same passion I had when I found the weights. It inspired me to help anyone I could because that is what I wanted as a 15 year old. 4 years later we joined forces to work together, to teach each other and to learn together. He has helped me learn so much through trusting different protocols, dieting strategies and training methods to find the formula we have today. The formula that will turn him into a professional bodybuilder.
At 22 years old, this man operates like a true professional, he never misses. He gives me everything he has and has faith in the process. This is how a true athlete works. By trusting the process and realising it is a long game that takes years and not a couple of weeks. He's given me 3 years of his life, and in those 3 years we have put on 20kg of muscle on his frame, sculpting him into the best junior bodybuilder in Africa in the NPC by 21 year old as well as runner up in a men's open classic physique lineup. Something that very few, if any other 21 year olds in this country can lay claim to.
Now, 2 days out of our 5th show together we are even better than we were in Decemeber last year. Bigger, stronger and leaner, with more data andknowledge.
If you give me your time and your best effort, I promise you we can do great things together. Finding the right formula takes more than 12 weeks with a coach. Dropping your coach after one prep that has a disappointing result is absolutely ridiculous. You need time together. You need to learn together and you need to grow a true relationship together.
